These images were taken at a dog center that offers all things a dog owner could ever think of wishing upon their dog, including supervised overnight care. I have never had a pet and likely never will (though I do not mind their occasional company), always telling myself that I would prefer to meet animals on their own terms, where they have brought themselves willingly and nothing is assumed.
The employees delighted in praising each dog so lovingly. What I saw through my lens was a discrepancy between their caring words and their treatment of the dogs, how they eyed the dogs and how the dogs eyed them back. These are the biased photographs of a pet skeptic.
